The inspectors are coming

Tidy Towns Inspector looking through magnifier glass

Milltown Tidy Towns: Tidy Towns second inspections are now in progress and as Silver Medal Winners last year, we would ask everyone, young and old to keep up the good work.  Keep Milltown looking spick and span.

A few years ago, Tidy Towns was all about tidiness and litter, litter, litter, so, on a “Sunday morning litter pick” a few weeks ago, it was heartening to find that there were only three pieces of litter found in the whole village.  Congratulations to everyone, especially to the schools and the younger generation for giving the lead.

The committee would like to thank and congratulate everyone who co-operated in any way to make – Milltown Your Village – a more pleasant place to live and work in.  There are still some aspects of the village that need attention if we are to secure these vital extra marks to get to the top.  We look forward to having everyone involved in 2018.

One hour for tidy towns

Milltown Tidy Towns are encouraging people to continue to volunteer just one hour per week to the Tidy Towns, to keep the village and approach roads litter & kerb-weed free. Be proud of your village by painting a shop front, house, rusty gate, chimney or even a side-wall to your lawn. Put out window boxes, plant a garden flower bed. Free gloves available for clean-up of village. Contact Padraig on 087-2261578 or Tina on 087-9715301. Thank you to all who take part. Remember you don’t have to live in the village to be involved.
